Blonder Tongue DAP
The Blonder Tongue Digital to Analog Processor Plus (DAP Plus # 6295) is a complete single channel solution for delivering digital television programming over existing analog networks. The two additional features that differentiate the DAP Plus are the Broadcaster Firmware package and the ability to add an optional Asynchronous Serial Interface (ASI) output. The DAP Plus is a perfect transition unit for existing analog processors to ensure
uninterrupted delivery of off-air signals from new digital broadcast sources. The cornerstone of the Broadcaster Firmware package is the ability to process Active Format Description (AFD) that is inserted by some broadcasters. Broadcasters deploy AFDs to control the timing of Aspect Ratio switches more accurately than using MPEG signaling alone. The ASI Output version of the DAP Plus (DAP Plus ASI, #6295 10) presents two ASI outputs that can be used to feed a digital multiplexer, like the Blonder Tongue DQMx Series, and still have a local monitoring port. These ASI streams run simultaneously with the analog output making the unit a future proof solution for processing any 8VSB or QAM sources. The ASI outputs will present ALL program streams from the 8VSB or
QAM source, while the analog output will only present one program stream. The ASI outputs will maintain all channel identification information that is transmitted by the source.

price per channel and top notch performance and functionality. This new Blonder Tongue QT incorporates a scalable modular design that allows from one to eight transcoder module sections as well as a single combination power supply & control module to be
added, removed or swapped at any time. Support for redundant back-up or standby power has been built into every QT power supply & control module.
Blonder Tongue AQT
The Blonder Tongue AQT Transcoder is a modular unit that receives either an 8VSB (Off-air Digital) or QAM (CATV Digital) signal, and transcodes it to any CATV QAM channel. The transcoding enables televisions with QAM digital tuners to seamlessly view the 8VSB Off-air digital signals on cable television frequency assignments without having to change the television tuner input from CATV mode to Off-Air mode. The input digital signal is stripped of it's original digital modulation (8VSB or QAM), leaving just the basic data stream. The Blonder Tongue AQT then creates a new, clean QAM carrier and reinserts the original data stream on to this new QAM carrier. If the original channel was encrypted, it
will remain encrypted, if the original channel was in the clear, it will remain in the clear. The only modification to the original data stream that is performed is changing the data rate when converting an 8VSB signal to a QAM signal. This rate change is done via Null Packet processing and does not affect the encryption in any way.
Blonder Tongue ASI-4
The Blonder Tongue ASI-4 is a 1:4 active ASI splitter. It is designed to complement digital headend products that can utilize an ASI input for EAS (Emergency Alert System) applications, or any application requiring splitting of an ASI signal. The ASI-4 can be deployed in a daisy-chain configuration to provide additional outputs as required. Modular design allows installation of up to six units in 2RU.
Blonder Tongue AQD
The Blonder Tongue AQD converts ATSC or QAM Digital Signals to NTSC Analog Signals with the AQD. Digital Television has arrived. Transmitting the information used to make TV picture and sound as data bits allows for higher resolution and dramatically better picture quality and sound than previously available with analog.
Blonder Tongue DHDP Series
The Blonder Tongue DHDP Series (Digital High Definition Television Processor) is a two-unit system consisting of a Downconverter unit which acts as the input section and an Upconverter unit which acts as the output section. Both units are housed in a single MICM style die-cast chassis and are available in both horizontal and vertical versions.
Blonder Tongue MDDM-860
The Blonder Tongue MDDM-860 is a digital demodulator and decoder that receives one input in ATSC 8VSB (digital off-air) or clear QAM (digital cable) format and delivers one NTSC composite analog video and stereo audio output. The unit allows delivering of a digital off-air program to viewers with an analog TV set. It also allows operators to cherry-pick channels from a clear QAM cable lineup.Headends processing analog broadcasts using Blonder Tongue's MIDM demodulators and MICM modulators can be upgraded seamlessly to process digital broadcasts by simply replacing the MIDM with a MDDM.
Blonder Tongue AQM
The Blonder Tongue AQM is designed to accept an MPEG- 2 ASI (Asynchronous Serial Interface) digital transport stream and modulate it into a QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) signal. The Blonder Tongue QAM modulator in the AQM achieves state of the-
art performance with capabilities to improve bandwidth efficiency by supporting advanced QAM modes like 256, 512 & 1024 QAM.
Blonder Tongue AQP
The Blonder Tongue AQP (ATSC/QAM Processor) accepts one input in 8VSB (digital off-air) or QAM (digital cable) format, including the sub-band QAM input channels T7 to T13, and delivers one output in QAM format in the 54-864 MHz range.AQP can be utilized in a remote headend to regenerate a clean QAM channel from a degraded one. It also allows TV sets to receive digital off-air programming on CATV channel assignments by transmodulating the 8VSB broadcast to QAM.It can also be utilized in remote digital origination applications, where the QAM channel needs to be delivered to the headend via the sub-band frequencies.

The PS-1526 has a single output for powering one load, with a maximum current rating of 40 MA.
Drake DAD860
The Drake model DAD860 Digital to Analog Decoder is a digital demodulator and decoder, for ATSC 8VSB broadcast or in-the-clear QAM television signals, that delivers a standard NTSC composite analog video and stereo audio output.
This device, used in conjunction with an analog NTSC modulator, allows a cable system operator to continue to
provide analog versions of services that will only be available to him as digital in the future. It may also be utilized to
provide the alternate digital channels now available from many broadcasters. The DAD860 is packaged in an extruded aluminum module that is compatible with the Drake RMM12 or RMM4 rack
mounting units normally used for our analog mini-rack components. The Drake DAD860 is one unit wide and thus takes one
of 12 available slots in the RMM12. There is a companion controller, the DAD860 Controller, that can be used to
program and monitor between one and ten DAD860 modules. The controller module is two units wide as mounted in
the RMM12.
Drake MEQ1000
The R.L. Drake model MEQ1000 is a commercial grade multiplexing EDGE QAM modulator. This unit is ideal for installations where only one QAM output is required from each Edge QAM chassis. The MEQ1000 features plug in input modules that include an ATSC/QAM input tuner, an ASI input , an IP input, and analog NTSC inputs. This manual includes the DTD1000 tuner and ASII. Other input modules will have instructions provided with them. The MEQ1000 has two input module slots and the outputs interface to the MEQ1000 multiplexer, internally, where they are MPEG program filtered, multiplexed, and groomed. Programs, among the total group from input module A and input module B, may be selected or not selected by the operator to be sent to the QAM modulator. A maximum of 20 programs may be selected. Also, the total bit rate of the selected programsmust not exceed that of the output QAM channel capacity. This same filtered stream is output via the rear panel ASI output jack.
