AMT Launches Value-added Reseller Program for
Next Generation Enterprise Passive Optical LAN Solution
DEERFIELD BEACH, FL., October 14th, 2010 – AMT (Advanced Media Technologies) today announced a VAR (Value added Reseller) program enabling enterprise structured cabling providers to offer Motorola Mobility, Inc. a subsidiary of Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) POL (Passive Optical LAN) solution to businesses in North America, Latin America and Canada. AMT’s authorized resellers will have the ability to generate new revenue by providing POL technology and associated design, deployment and support capabilities to POL customers of all sizes – all while offering customers an innovative and cost effective alternative to the traditional LAN networks deployed today.
POL is a next generation enterprise LAN solution developed by Motorola that eliminates the need for bulky copper wiring, multiple distribution closets and related power and cooling systems. Ideal for enterprise and campus environments, POL replaces existing LAN connections with a single high capacity fiber optic cable designed to connect the end user directly to the data center. Derived from carrier grade passive optical networking (PON) technology, POL helps end users realize substantial CapEx and OpEx savings while taking significant steps towards becoming a more green enterprise.
As Motorola’s largest stocking distributor, AMT will fulfill POL product requirements directly to VARs, along with additional products and services offered by AMT that will compliment end user specific solution and technical requirements. AMT will also provide resellers with training, support, and tools for the sales and marketing of POL.
“For those companies looking to drive real cost out of IT operations, Passive Optical LAN offers a disruptive TCO equation over traditional LAN architectures,” said Joe Cozzolino, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Access Networks Solutions, Motorola Mobility.“We’re very pleased to extend our relationship with AMT to include Motorola Mobility’s Passive Optical LAN solutions. AMT’s advanced distribution capabilities and extensive support programs will play a key role in the success of their new Passive Optical LAN VAR program.”
"POL is a game changer for internal infrastructure," says Ken Mosca, CEO of AMT. "AMT, together with Motorola and select VAR strategic partners, will offer customers a green, extremely cost effective and simplified alternative to current methods of wiring internal infrastructures, opening up new opportunities with prospective clients.”
In mid October 2010, AMT, in conjunction with Motorola, is holding a VAR Symposium in Deerfield Beach, Fl, for their twenty-one newly signed VARs. There, VARs will be able to meet key people from Motorola and AMT who will be a crucial supporting element to their success.
